I use this book with PP to Grade 2. First, I read it to the class. While reading I give students an opportunity to make predictions and engage in the story. After the first reading, students find their own spot and lay down pretending to be asleep. I then re-read ( instead of Peter I use the word ‘you’) the story, as they perform individual pantomimes. It is great to see 30 kids engaged in the story and enjoying ‘playing’ in the snow. I start seated but usually end up right in the mix with them – great way to create a supportive environment and to role model. Always goes down a treat!
